Swoonable initially started sometime in 1999 as simply a list of romantic relationships between fictional characters in a Web clique I started, Hopeless Romantic. Because it was a hassle to update, I took it down.

Middle of 2003, I put it up again as a fanlisting directory. Because it turned out difficult to advertise (an understatement ^_^;) I decided it would better end up separate from Hopeless Romantic and as a Web directory instead, and the move was completed by the end of December 2003.

I put the site on hiatus in the middle of the year as I needed to work on the backend/script that was running the site. And now it's back up, and better than ever!
